I got thinking about Earth as a big mine that was raping and pillaging the planet for the ultimate purpose of mining gold and centralizing it in a refined state in one central location. All of the processes that any mine would have for a particular element. Then I got thinking about how happy we overall are in this case, if we were slaves, and how well we as slaves are taking care of ourselfs to a certain extent, and going about our gold mining duties. And wow, what a much better system it must be than the original gold mines, it really is a feat of engineering.
